Cody joined Poyant in 2018. Cody earned his degree from Johnson & Wales University in Graphic Design and Digital Media with a concentration in Print Design. He has worked in a variety of smaller screen-printing shops, developing a sense of branding and design with a variety of clients and projects. In addition to his conceptual knowledge, Cody has worked in several disciplines of print media such as silk-screening, embroidery, stationary, as well as brand strategy and image. His background has given him the experience necessary to pursue a different medium of design, themed environments and wayfinding.
Cody seeks to become a well-rounded designer with many differentiating facets to offer all of his clientele, big or small. Cody looks to provide a contemporary outlook on the industry as well as a more customer concentric approach. In a time where everything is a commodity, he looks to focus on what is really important, quality client interaction and personification.
“When you’re a carpenter making a beautiful chest of drawers, you’re not going to use a piece of plywood on the back, even though it faces the wall and nobody will see it. You’ll know it’s there, so you’re going to use a beautiful piece of wood on the back. For you to sleep well at night, the aesthetic, the quality, has to be carried all the way through.” -Steve Jobs
“Deciding what not to do is as important as deciding what to do. That’s true for companies and it’s true for products.” -Steve Jobs
“Rule 9: Assume that the person you are listening to might know something you don’t.” -Jordan B. Peterson
