OSHA 30 Certification Achieved
Richard Poyant, President of Poyant Signs, announced today that Joseph Pellerin, Human Resource Manager and Safety Officer for Poyant along with Marco Vieira, Supervisor of the Field Services Group which includes the Installation Department and the Service Department, have each completed the OSHA 30 Certification Program.
This certification requires a focused effort on learning the OSHA and ANSI safety regulations and best practices to be used in the field. Poyant, with 4 Installation Crews and 3 Service Crews and over 10 vehicles covering all of New England and New York, has the largest Installation and Service Department of any sign company in New England.
“Joe and Marco will lead our on-going effort to train all of our staff on safety best practices and awareness. Having completed and achieved this Certification, Joe and Marco have strengthened their knowledge and can provide guidance to our Crews to ensure we always operate with the safety of our customers, their customers and our staff in the forefront of our operations”, said Richard Poyant.
“In 2008, over 30 of our staff including senior management, Lead fabricators, Project Managers and all field personnel went through the OSHA 10 Hour Certification Program and since then new associates are put through the training as well. Safety practices are reviewed at monthly staff meetings and random field inspections by our Safety Officer are conducted on a monthly basis”, according to Poyant.
Controller, Victor Gonsalves made a point to congratulate Joe and Marco for a job well done. “Your effort and leadership has contributed to lowering our accident rate substantially and earning us with one of the best safety records of any company our size in New England in the last two years. As a result, our Workers Compensation Mod has been reduced significantly which is an objective indicator to our customers we are a safety conscious company.”
