99 Summer Street
Boston, MA
CBT Architects approached Poyant with their signage design and vision for the renovation of 99 Summer Street in Boston, MA. Poyant was responsible for bringing their vision to life through a challenging and unique signage design.
Working with CBT and Shawmut Design & Construction, Poyant implemented a signage program that included two glass blade signs, a large set of channel letters, ADA and dimensional letters. The glass for the blade signs was sourced from Class Glass LLC in Tennessee due to such large dimensions for a glass piece. The glass company printed a digital distinction pattern on the sign to provide a white gradient from bottom to top. In addition to the gradient, the blade sign featured the word “Summer” and two, 26 inch tall 9’s on each side.
The large set of white illuminated “99” letters at the entrance were the second large component of this project. These letters were designed to be read the same way in both directions, providing a unique challenge to the Poyant team.
This complex project required collaboration and coordination among every department, including our graphic designer, lead project manager, specialty buyer, lead fabricators, director of operations and field services team for installation.
The 99 Summer Street project was completed in May of 2018 and Poyant was successful in bringing CBT’s vision and design to life.
